Athletics provide a wonderful opportunity to reinforce our faith formation through teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, and accountability. Through competition, our athletes—as well as our coaches and parents—learn to experience both winning and losing with humility and grace. Being part of a team also helps develop friendships, strengthen our school community, and give students a greater sense of belonging at SPPS.
At Saints Peter and Paul, we believe that participation in sports not only improves physical health but also plays a positive role in youth development, including Christian virtue, academic achievement, self-esteem, and sportsmanship. Youth sports places student athletes in a team environment which helps them develop many traits they will need in everyday life. While allowing for the team’s success and healthy competition, each student athlete can reach their individual potential and develop lifetime skills that are integral to their development. We form our students to compete in a Christ-like manner.
I love SPPS because we are a family. We win together, lose together, succeed together, work together. But most importantly, being a family means we love together.
As a family at SPPS, we work well together: we are collaborative in the classroom.
We win well together: we celebrate our strengths and successes.
We lose well together: we strive to improve and always be the best versions of ourselves.
We succeed well together: we give all the glory back to God.
We love well together: I have so many friends and teachers who encourage and inspire me. I feel how much Jesus loves me through my friends and teachers!

The athletic program is classified in two leagues. The Widget league is for 3rd and 4th graders. This league allows younger student athletes to begin their athletic learning in an organized and safe environment.
The other league that is offered is for 5th through 8th graders. This league is governed by the Catholic School Athletic League (CSAL) to continue their athletic endeavors in a more developed league through the years.
